Some of us had problems with our data structures, with lost partitions, folders and files but there are people who have their data storage neat and tidy for years. How is this possible, some may ask? Are they some data experts or what? I researched this topic on web and found some crucial things which are essential for quality data storage.

First thing is that your machine is physical in good ambient. Top notch servers are in climate controlled rooms without dust and other tiny particles that might damage sensitive computer parts. Of course your desktop is nowhere near that conditions but you at least might get your space tidy. Also electrical current is important. Buy UPS to stabilize your electricity variations. Static electricity might affect your data. New carpets or other electrified fiber might damage you data so buy fabric softener and spray on it.

We will discuss here about email recovery process. If you have accidentally deleted some important emails, don’t panic. Here are some easy tricks that will bring back your important messages. Almost every email client has deleted emails or trash folder because some emails are deleted by human mistake rather than machine or program failure. This is similar to recycle bin in windows operating system and it kind of temporary memory storage. All desktop clients have that and almost all web clients like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo and others have that. Try searching for phrase you remember from message topic or even from email body. It is very possible you will recover mail if it’s in trash.

Disk investigator is useful software which scans your hard drive to find all hidden files and folders on your disk. It can help you recover your hard disk files by reading raw data sectors, not trough system calls of operating system, and scanning data structure, files, folders, partition tables etc… Verify file integrity and undelete previously deleted files are one of this programs’ options.

You have just started your laptop and realized that something’s wrong. Your hard disc failed to start. You must be asking yourself if laptop recovery can be done just like on desktop hard disc. Yes it can be done and it is not so difficult as you think.

If you want to access your data you must take hard disc out of your laptop. Most laptop models have screws on back side where memory disc and other parts can be found. Unscrew part where hard disc is located and pull it out.

No matter how expensive your computer is there is a moment when it might die and leave you with serious problems. There are of course redundant systems and expensive configurations but those are built for high end servers and hosting where up time must be 99.999%. Regular users have one hard disc or couple and they are not into raid stuff and redundancy architectures.

What happens if system dies in small company or private agency. The business dies too because all data running the business is gone and only if there is backup ready and technical people there problem can be solved. So running data backup from time to time is very good thing for you and your business.

People become aware of problems made with their data loss after they realize that data is really lost. They had chance to protect or back up their important files but problem is visible after the files are gone.

First thing is that people believe if they own brand new disc they are one hundred percent secure and that data backup is not necessary. All of us have bought sometime electronic device which is brand new but it does not operate somehow. Product is under warranty and we get our money back or new product instead. Just like in case with brand new device our disc may broke down in first week of use. You are left with blank screen or some error messages and you don’t know what to do.

When major failure happens you can start to use recovery techniques described in articles on this blog in order to save everything that can be saved. Recognizing failure signals is important because it is best to backup or save your data before failure.

When you work with memory of any kind you have to do everything with caution. Panic reactions and quick solutions will probably be bad like any computer solution.

Data loss is very sensitive topic and it depends on many factors in your environment. Sometimes it can be done very easy and sometimes it is just impossible. The reason lays in fact that all kind of physical memory can be damaged in many kinds of ways. The boot sectors may be deleted but the files are still there, optical disc may be scratched on surface or magnet disc may be dropped down from 10th floor where data recovery is almost impossible.  It’s a very rare thing but really, physical memory can be broken down and data recovery is out of question but in most cases with useful tools you can find here and little knowledge you can easily recover your data.
